link between school prefects and
later business success ...

Aurora TDS provides courses for
school prefects. These are
at three levels, two
of which are endorsed by the
award of certificates which
verify the standard of learning
achieved.
The aim is to enable students
selected as prefects to:
Basic course
This highly interactive and
practical one day course covers the
skills and qualities needed to be an
effective prefect. It
emphasises the importance of
communication and assertiveness
skills, leadership and
teamworking. Both
morning and afternoon sessions
conclude with practical exercises.
Trained Prefect course
The Trained Prefect course is
similar to the basic course, but the
course concludes with an
essential knowledge test to establish a standard of
learning achieved. On
successful completion a certificate
is awarded.
Qualified Prefect course
The Qualified Prefect course is a
two day event that places greater
emphasis the acquisition of
individual skills and it links high
quality teamworking with
Belbin's Team Roles for Young People. It
concludes with
an essential knowledge test and of evidence of applied
learning (a post-course report). On successful
completion a certificate is awarded.

'The
Perfect Prefect?' Self-Study Booklet
Aurora has developed a 30 page
self-study booklet for individuals
who have been selected as prefects,
but not had the opportunity
to receive training.
This gives newly appointed
prefects the essential knowledge
they need to make a confident start
to being an effective prefect.
